Royal Graphics Bureau is a collection of work produced by designer and web developer, Jeff Medich. The examples are a mixed bag of contract work and projects developed as a full-time employee. Each project notes this detail to provide insight as to whether it was completed in-house or on a freelance basis. Project pages also detail the applications and coding languages used and what role was played in developing the project (In some cases, web pages were designed by someone else and only the development/code/functionality of the site was executed from a Photoshop file.).

With the details regarding the site out of the way, I'd like to avoid further third-person pretension and write the rest of this background page in my own voice:

I've always enjoyed drawing, and as a teenager, I knew that it'd be in my best interest to pick a career that would involve art. Being realistic about the limited opportunities for illustrators, I packed up my '86 Mazda pick-up and moved from Sacramento to Seattle to study visual communication with a focus on print design.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Seattle, I returned to Northern California to seek gainful employment and secured a job designing print projects at Bauer Industries' Sports Rack (now Rack N Road) Corporate Headquarters.

It soon became apparent that the greatest number of opportunities for designers was in online media. So, I began fumbling with HTML and took a job at the software company iConvention which developed online solutions for conventions and large events.

Again, trying to follow where the opportunities were, I left the software company to work for an ad agency hoping to invest in adding a greater variety of work to my portfolio.

Kind of falling off of the full-time design career path, my next job was managing a very small after-market motorcycle parts manufacturing business, Reeg MX. Although I did develop the company's website, packaging, brochures and magazine ads, a lot of my day-to-day tasks emphasized trying to keep the business in business. After four years, the economy faltered, and it became very clear that I should return to pursuing a career in designing exclusively.

Which brings us to today. I now work full-time designing and developing online marketing initiatives for InsWeb Corporation while spending many late evenings creating websites on a contractual basis.

Whew, my life to-date wrapped up in six paragraphs. This is where I sum everthing up by suggesting a call to action and offer: if you're looking for someone to help develop your next online (with a focus on dynamically driven content and W3C compliant coding) or offline project, le'me know - hello@royalgraphicsbureau.com
